Q. I've set up cookie protection for a directory, but when I browse to it, my web browser just goes crazy, in some kind of infinite loop! A. You will create an infinite loop of redirection if you accidently protect the directory containing the login.asp scripts. In the Basic/Cookie tab, Cookies: Configure button, make sure the Login Page, Failed Login Page and the Timeout Page (if enabled) are not in the directory you are protecting. Double check this.
